I’m excited and grateful to participate at Alpe d’HuZes 2025 with team “no stRess no dRama – positIVO”. The dream to participate in the Alpe d’HuZes event came in 2023 when I experienced a cancer situation first hand and with a close relative. The Alpe d’HuZes logo became part of my personal development plan, and now I’m happy to share that I will participate with a team.

no stRess no dRama only positIVO
“Team captain” Wendy Turksma, already participated in the year her husband passed away and she was the driving force of the idea to participate in 2025 and brought family and close friend Valérie Gulpen on-board. These two are a great engine of creativity and energy.
To give a bit ore context about the team, I’ve grabbed the section below from the team page. Let it sink in for a minute:
In memory of Ramón Roumans & Ivo Langenhuizen
“no stRess no dRama only positIVO” is participating in the Alpe d’HuZes for everyone affected by cancer, but especially for our loved ones who have faced (or are facing) this illness.
Our husbands, dads, Ramón & Ivo, fought bravely but, sadly, we lost them far too soon in 2020 and 2021 to brain cancer and lung cancer. We know you’ll both be with us along the way, giving us that extra push when, despite all the training, we feel we can’t go on or when the emotions overwhelm us. 💫💫
For them, and also for mom, Cindy, Melanie, and Mathieu, we will cycle, run, and walk as a tribute to their strength, perseverance, and the indelible positive example they have set for us.
We’re also cycling, running, and walking for those who are still fighting or have fought their own battle with cancer. This list of names unfortunately keeps growing, but we carry all of you in our hearts. They show us that hope and support can make a difference. Their courage and determination inspires us to keep going, even when it gets tough.
Giving up is not an option! 🙌🏻
Grateful for your sponsorship for Team “no stRess no dRama – positIVO!”
With love,
Denise, Fabiënne, Julian, Remo, Timéo, Valérie & Wendy
Julian will do an attempt to climb the Alp d’Huez on the bike of his (passed away) dad. He asked me to support him and ride to the top together. I’m grateful to do this with him and consider it as a huge honor. And there will be a lot more of these examples that give goosebumps on our journey towards the Alpe d’Huzes on 05-06-2025.
So this a completely different game as the HTC Participation Ride with Team HTC Columbia back in 2010, where a cycling jersey was signed and donated to the corporate initiative “Child Cancer – Just Beat It!” from Berner Benelux supporting KiKa.
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
I’m really looking forward participate in this Alpe d’HuZes 2025 event and honor the people from my inner circle who struggled directly or indirectly with cancer.
Stichting Alpe d’HuZes – Remo Knops
It has been since La Marmotte back in 2001 – 2002 that I rode the Alpe d’Huez climb. So I’m looking forward to return with Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8 and hiking shoes and get up there as much as possible. With some AD6 gear I’m ready to get my foundational training efforts done during this winter months !
Giving up is not an option!
